I get asked at lot why I use vim and people don't believe me when I tell them I don't miss IntelliJ or other IDEs. This post will explain why I initially left the comfort of my well-known IDE and tried vim. I'm also going to explain why I find vim's way of handling keybinds and file tabs appealing ; as well as what my paint-points with traditional IDE's way of handling them were.
